Community Support

In the Community

Superior Hearing Centre is an active supporter of numerous community initiatives.

Dome Walkers

Since 2014, Superior Hearing Centre has proudly sponsored this in-door walking program for those aged 55+.

Every Tuesday and Thursday from October to April, participants are able to avoid the cold and treacherous sidewalks outside and enjoy their walk in the comfort of Lowery’s Sports Dome.

This walking time is provided free of charge, thanks to the financial support of Superior Hearing Centre.

Organized and facilitated by City of Thunder Bay and numerous volunteers, this successful walking program allows older adults the freedom to walk in safe surroundings when our cold weather is at its worst. We look forward to continuing our support for this important program for years to come.

Blues Fest

For several years now, Superior Hearing Centre has assumed their important position to the right of the big stage at Blues Fest. Supporting the hearing health of our community Superior Hearing Centre provides free earplugs (and other goodies) to attendees.

Noise-induced hearing loss is the most common cause of hearing issues.  Your risk is related to how loud the noise is, how close you are to it, and how long you’re exposed to it.

Lessen your risk of hearing loss.  Drop by our tent at this year’s Blues Fest, say hello, and grab some free earplugs.  We care about your hearing health.

Christmas Parade

To support our community…and let’s face it, just for the fun of it.  Superior Hearing Centre joins in the festivities of the Annual Rotary Christmas Parade.

We love to see the many families enjoying the fresh air and chance to spend some time together.

Looking forward to seeing you there this year.

Pocket Talkers: Community Partnership to Assist those Hard-of-hearing in Hospital

In March 2016, Superior Hearing Centre, partnered with Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre to make pocket talkers available to patients during hospitalization.

Pocket talkers are portable personal amplifiers that allow users to hear more clearly in difficult listening situations.  In the hospital, it allows patients to hear their nurse, doctor, visitors, and even the television more clearly.

Superior Hearing Centre has provided 6 pocket talkers to the hospital.  As part of the program, Superior Hearing Centre will provide any maintenance of equipment required to keep the program running successfully.
